When we first meet her, she's graduated from an MA at St.

Martin's and she's going to write a PhD on Rami Haag, who is a disco singer, a nightclub owner.

She was a big, big star in the 70s.

She had a club called Chez Romy, which was like Studio 54, basically.

Everybody who's anybody went to that club.

And she was also David Bowie's girlfriend and muse while he made his three Berlin albums.

She had a huge effect and impact on his career and on generally pop culture, honestly.

There's one of his videos, Voice Keeps Swinging, where Bowie is dressed as Rami Haag.

So she was hugely influential and also totally written out.

Whenever you read those endless biographies about Bowie and Berlin or you watch the documentaries, they will always say something maddening like...
