He was like a former child soldier who was talking and, you know, sharing a little bit of his story.
He said what happened and then he said, and now we needed to live.
And that really just like broke me right there because I was like, I don't know what that's like.
And I'm trying to also like allow myself to do that or to like believe that I deserve to live a life outside of like what happened and build my own path in a way.
I'm learning how to like decorate my room.
Like, oh, my God, I've never decorated a room ever.
And you could see that in every space I lived in.
Yeah, one time my friend was like, why don't you have anything in here?
Like, this looks like a prison.
There's a bed and a desk.
And I'm like, because I'm going to leave.
And she was like, what do you mean?
I was like, I probably will leave in like a year or two or probably will move.
Like, I'm learning, I guess, how to like plant roots.
And not always have that idea in the back of my head that you're going to be yanked out wherever you go.
I'm learning how to like, just like that I'm allowed to sit down and just like take a breath.
And that's so hard.
