So if a frontline person got 30%, they got 60%.

And what I want to do is create an environment where every single team member was incentivized to help all the other team members, wherever it made sense, earn another dollar for the business because they benefited from it.

And they all understood how it worked.

And another piece, I mean, this all sounds so easy to say, and it takes a little work to put this stuff in place, but we had to make sure that, and it's hard to get perfect, but everybody was paid in an equitable way relative to everybody else in the business.

Because we're paying a bonus relative to payroll.

If somebody making 18 bucks an hour feels like somebody making 40 bucks an hour is creating less value than them, and if it was true, they'd be right.

then it wouldn't work.

So we would scour every year, sometimes every two years, depending on what's going on, all the roles and what light companies are paying.

We want to pay in the upper 20% of what light companies are paying, but with bonus, we're in the upper 1% if we perform.

So we did that work.

And once that was in place, never had those conversations again.

Like having different bonus programs, incentive, commission programs that are individual-based, that was ridiculous.

I got to where I was spending half my time in the early years dealing with the dysfunction associated with it.

Once I put this performance compensation in place based on profitability and you got paid relative to your income,

all that noise went away and I got to focus on other things, which was fantastic, yeah.

Yeah, and I've had a few of those over the years where they just say, I don't want to participate in any of that.

I just want this money and I want this guaranteed raise every single year and I want to be left alone.

Well, that's not the culture here.

So this isn't going to work, but I appreciate you trying and giving us a chance.
