I had a very much uh a year of growing up between year twelve and year thirteen at sixth form where I realized that I should actually be putting in a lot more effort.

I just grew up.

Um I think a lot of kids do at that age and took my levels a bit more seriously.

Uh, was way better prepared.

I always remember that motto that was in the sixth form common

room fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

And I kind of much better with my levels

saying that I breathe through it, but um I think I had a lot of teachers tearing their hair out because, you know, I I kind of I I I wasn't I wasn't the greatest pupil um and I um I I'd I was always very focused though.

I was always very focused on what I wanted to do.

That's where the column was getting at in this is the I think a lot of uh our younger people at the moment are being quite wrongly kind of labelled

you know, this whole like snowflake generation and they're soft and all of this, that and the other.

Uh and there's been a lot of talk around NEET, so not an employment, education or training.

That number's been growing and of young adults that are kind of been labelled quite lazily in that category.

Not realizing that it is actually quite a lot harder now, I would suggest, you know, for example, hospitality industry has been completely crushed down.

Uh when I was at sixth form, I worked in nightclubs, hubs, bars, uh d all sorts.

It's it's not easy out there.

But yeah.

I would say if you are someone that's done their A levels, but more realistically, probably parents or someone that's um had someone that's had A levels or G C S recently and great.

Or or you've had grandchildren or relatives.

I think it's just really important that we help support and give confidence to people i and and young adults in that situation.
