And I would say that that is probably the kind of most people's target would be around about there.
Retiring around about 65, you know, ยฃ335,000 is what's needed for a moderate retirement.
If you want a comfortable retirement, ยฃ532,000 you're going to need.
And then if you push your retirement back another five years, for a minimum retirement, you'll need just ยฃ15,000 saved in a private pension, ยฃ237,858 for a moderate, ยฃ387,923 for a comfortable retirement.
Now, I know that's a lot of figures that are being bandied about, but it is really worth taking stock, as we always say on this podcast, of where you are at with your private pension saving.
how close you are i would use that 65 mark and that 335 217 figure as a real benchmark have a look where you know you are at your age um how much you've got in your private pension how much that private pension has returned to you uh in the last five to ten years
and where that could possibly, using a compound calculator, take you if you carry on making the same payments into it over the course of the rest of your time until 65 and how close you are to that.
If you are someone that would rather have a more comfortable retirement, you're going to need to act now, making sure that you are maxing out your pension payments as much as you can because you can't buy time.
As I say, this is just a real kind of benchmark.
It is used by the industry, so it's quite robust, but there are lots of nuances to it.
What a cheek.
I love the rumour mill.
I love the neighbours that hot-footed it off to France and just left the van there.
I love these neighbourhood kind of disputes.
It's crazy.
Do you know what, Georgie?
And I know you've got examples of this.
I'll give you two really quick examples of this.
And I think that there's quite a lot of this that goes on that winds up neighbours more than anything.
Because if you do live in a cul-de-sac or you live in a road where space is at a premium, it's really irritating when people have more than sort of two or three vehicles.
