Good afternoon.

My name is Leigh Altman, County Commissioner serving at large, and I also have the privilege of serving as Vice Chair.

Thank you, Mr. Chair.

So, especially like slide 80 and 81, really helpful.

Thank you for trying to present this the way you did.

You know,

I often say this, maybe not in this space, but you know, like with regard to CMS buildings, you know, I'm in some buildings that they're tearing down and maybe it's because I'm a child of the seventies and eight and eighties, but sometimes I'm in these buildings and I'm like, I like them.

I, I, I sort, I find them.

I like them.

You know, I, I don't, when you say needs major renovation, you know, must gut and redo.

Part of me wants to push back and really get to the bottom of that because I don't always agree in other contexts that something needs to be done.

I mean, yes, it looks dated.

Yes, it's not as beautiful, bright, and airy.

as new construction would be but it is to your point what are we giving up the opportunity cost is significant and you know someone yesterday i was at an engagement session and they were talking about how they need a satellite board of elections in north mecklenburg because it's a long way for them to come down here and it's expensive to drive down here and they're completely right and my response was you're completely right and i have a very long list of things that i think need to be done and i can't do them all and so although i would

love, you know, and I co-sign to the original vision, the longer I live with this and I see other opportunities and I hear what the community is talking about, you know, I am open, Mr. Manager, to some of these other options if you can serve the community and get it done, understanding that more is more and less is less.

You know, and I remember Commissioner Powell, everything's about balance and figuring out the right way to prioritize all of these things.

I'd like to know what, so here's a list of questions for you, Mr. Manager.

For the land that we've acquired, if we don't do these things,

what happens with that land, number one.
