I didn't know who to talk to.
I didn't know about the National Screening Service at the time.
Nobody had kind of directed me to that.
And then, yeah, that's when we kind of went ahead and recalled my smears and got them tested.
So to be honest, by the end of 2023, I knew that I had been misdiagnosed.
We had had the results.
We had had the independent review done by then.
So I knew kind of what I was looking at anyway.
The need was there for the apology and just I really wanted to be validated more than anything else.
I felt like my story felt...
So far from reality, you know, and I just wanted to let people know like this is still happening, like it's it's still going on.
And I mean, it's at this point today, it's eight years on from the revelations.
But it's like I was just like, how I had so much confidence in it all.
I mean.
you have to think as well one of my smears that was misdiagnosed was in 2020 you know so it was much later than it was it was after Vicky's court case and everything so I just I was so confused and I kind of felt honestly like people thought I was making it up like I felt like people were like there's no way she went for her smears like you know I still feel like that when I say I have cervical cancer I feel like I have to back it up where I did get my smears you know
Yeah, I felt like, you know, people kind of were thinking, if she had her smears, she wouldn't be in that position.
You know, that's how I felt in my head.
And I knew I had done everything right.
So I wanted that to get across.
Honestly, again, I felt validated.
