switch and so you know for the eleventh inning his catcher hunter goodman was going to be on uh second base he knew that goodman was the last out of the tenth goodman is not fast and so

Before the top of the inning was done, he pulled a double switch.

He pulled out his catcher.

He pulled out his pitcher at the same time.

But instead of it being a straight switch, pitcher for pitcher, catcher for catcher, which would have the other catcher starting the the thing at second base, he put them in each other's spot in the batting order.

And so now it's gonna be the pitcher on second base, which allows him to go, well, actually, no, we're not gonna do the pitcher, we're gonna do the guy before, uh, who was by the way,

Faster than anyone else that we've mentioned so far.

And it worked out.

They scored, uh they ended up scoring three runs that inning actually.

Goodman probably would have scored eventually, but it it was a cool little like uh

I don't wanna say circumvention of the rules.

It was he used the rules to his advantage.

And it was the sort of like National League baseball that we don't we just don't see anymore with the double switches because we had the Universal DH.

Uh it's quirky, it's weird, it might not come up again for, you know, uh another well, I don't know.

Maybe managers now will do this more.

I uh now that we've sort of seen this loophole.
