Well, yeah, there's been plenty of lockdown highs, lows, but mostly mediocre moments while we just sit on our hands and wait for some positive news regarding when football is going to start again, I think.
Well, yeah, I found this one one of the probably the most complicated to work out really in terms of picking a standout goalkeeper because I was trying to sort of calculate how many points a goalkeeper has won for their side and it's actually quite hard to
quantify that but I sort of try to engage my brain to remember sort of the big moments that certain goalkeepers produced over the season and the the one that that stood out to me was Nick Pope at Burnley who's been yeah he's been a he's been a huge player for Burnley for the last sort of 18 months or so he's he's incredibly reliable consistent commands his area brilliantly but
From my memory, he's made some telling interventions throughout the season, which has played a huge part in sort of surging Burnley up the table.
The one that sticks out to me was his penalty save against Jamie Vardy against Leicester back in January, which sort of proved the catalyst for their upturn in results.
It was 1-0 at the time, I think, and Leicester were sort of dominating the game and the atmosphere was turning very negative at Turf Moor and Vardy steps up to take the penalty and
Pope read it and made a huge save and Burnley went on to win that game 2-1 and then I think they went on a seven match unbeaten run after that game which sort of sawed them into mid-table and as the season finished I think they're sort of pushing for a European spot so yeah he stands out for me and he's also no Premier League goalkeeper has made more clean sheets than Pope this season which is a pretty staggering statistic considering the teams involved like
I mean, Liverpool and Leicester are charging at the top of the division.
So, yeah, it's a pretty remarkable achievement for Pope.
Well, I'd like to... This unfortunate postponement to the season has probably come at the wrong time for Pope, really, because I'm sure he would have got a chance in one of those two upcoming friendly matches for England.
So I'd want to see him be tested in an international environment in a completely different... It's a different set-up, really, isn't it, to what Burnley do and the way England try and play.
We're trying to play out from the back, etc.
So I'd like to see him being tested in that environment before I...
make my call on whether he can oust Pickford, who has been, I mean, he's been Mr. Reliable for England ever since he's been given the job.
So, yeah, it's one of the many conundrums Southgate has to face, I think, over the next 12 months, up until the rescheduled Euros in 2021, yeah.

Especially over the past three months where Palace have picked up a lot and a lot of what they do is based on being defensively organised and keeping things tight at the back.
