I think you get a lot of, you build confidence by doing the thing and doing it in increments where you can recover and go, okay, that didn't turn out well.
Like, for example, I'm trying to set a record around the Farallon Islands up in San Francisco, and then I'm going to set another one, new record, no one's done it, around the Catalina Island down here.
But the Farallon's one is tough because it's a chain of islands.
They're named after Farallones, Spanish, the devil's teeth.
And they look gnarly.
And they're a shark breeding ground between May and September.

And the bay has this huge tidal and current patterns.
And I've not succeeded twice.
I mean, literally, you go out there and you get whipped.
Um, you don't get out there as far and now you're in just survival mode to get back in and trying to avoid getting rescued or towed.
Yeah.
But it's at some point you're French.
Well, at some point they are the right thing to do.
And then you, you just move on to that.
