He plays like a deep line midfield player, almost like a quarterback.
And he just absolutely dictates the tempo of the game.
He dictates the flow of our game.
And we want to play out from the back and dominate possession.
And he's become a key part of that.
It's overall his standards in training and his standards and what he expects from demands from others.
And it's been an absolute joy working with him.
And hopefully we can continue to do that for a long time yet.
his statement of intent was he came back from Washington and he had a month's break from their season finishing and he wanted to come straight in and get training with the lads and get to know the lads and get fit and I think what shocked the players and it didn't shock me but more so the players is his determination and his drive and his will to win is something that you need to be around because it makes you a leader and it makes you a winner and I think he comes in he's not a big talker Wayne
He's not a big talker.
He does his talking on the pitch.
He'll have little one-to-one conversations with the young players, but he lets his football do the talking.
And that's what we needed probably at the start of the season.
We needed a few more characters and leaders in the dressing room, especially for the young players to give them the right role models and the right ways of being in training.
Training is vital now.
You need to have that winning effort every single day.
You need to have competition in training.
And Wayne brings that in abundance and it's lifted everybody in the squad.
