So Brentford will very happily go man to man in the opposition half, and then they'll sit in in a you know real low block or a or a mid block.
They'll mix that.
Brighton are the same, Bournemouth under and Don Erodo are one of the top pressing teams in the league.
So I think kind of the chasing pack and also the teams at the
very top now, um know that they have to be physically really, really dominant.
Yeah, I think the demands are really high on a physical level, how much you've got to spread.
It takes time to coach.
I remember the early days of Iraola at Bournemouth where they couldn't quite get it right and were losing games or dropping points.
And Solanke said after kind of it all did finally click, he said it needs time on the training ground because you're talking about all these different coordinated jumps, players stepping up and then midfielders having to back up the strike, centre bats going that it's all these different kind of um moving parts and the other challenge is the quality of players and
League, right?
Not just then going man to man or locking on, but when the pass does go and defeat, how you then defend that.
There was a good example in the Fulham Palace game where Josh King spins Chris Richards.
So Palace have tried to commit to the press, the wingbacks gone high, jump to the opposition left back, and means your centre back then has has to defend the number ten, you know, really touch tight in the channel, pulling out wide.
Systematically it looks good, everyone's doing their jobs, they've all moved at the right time.
Um and then Richards just gets caught a bit flat footed.
Josh King spins him and he's in behind and there's a cutback that leads to a goal.
So you kind of have to then look at the breaking points as well of where might this all kind of fall apart if someone doesn't make the jump at the right time, or actually are we putting someone in a position where they might struggle, they might not be very good because we're demanding them to be out on a part of the pitch where they're not that comfortable.
He'd probably rather be deeper, closer to his own goal, heading away across, then he might be kind of going one v one out wide.
Yeah, I was not watching sporting.
Oh I was gonna catch you out.
