And I know where that character will end up emotionally at the end.
But there's so much that I have to make up to, you know, to create a plot and other characters and, you know, this kind of emotional arc that I want that character to go on.
It wasn't intentional in that I didn't say I'm going to write a love letter to literature or anything like that.
I think it was part of the water that they swam in and I had to describe it.
It's the water I swim in and so it was easy to do.
It just felt very natural and very much who she is, especially when I discovered who she was.
I loved reading.
My mom loved reading.
And so she definitely supplied me with books.
I had this bookshelf in my room and I read books over and over again.
And I really often, I mean, I just have this memory of reading Judy Blume's It's Not the End of the World and having the first time thinking, I want to do this.
I don't I don't know if I had that thought before.
I don't know if I was able to think, oh, there are people who are doing this.
But at that moment, I did.
And and I think it was because because it was realism and it was she wrote about families, contemporary families, not.
you know, families 100 years ago in England, which is a lot of the I was doing probably and and not talking animals and not people going to outer space.
And and it was just regular people.
And the parents were getting a divorce.
And I think my mother gave that book to me because she wanted to leave my father and eventually did.
