And it comes back to that purpose.

So that purpose of looking after the environment and people.

I might just touch on the zero waste thing first because it's a really good topic.

The concept of zero waste has been around for at least 20 or 30 years.

And there has been some progress made in that regard in terms of increasing diversion, reducing waste.

In my view, landfills, I said it before, play a key role for the community.

But the...

reduction or increase in diversion ultimately leads to a reduction in what goes to landfill but i can still see a future even in 20 30 50 years time where there's still there is still residual waste that will need a place to go and in some respects um i love landfills right but

If the ultimate destination was better somewhere else than a landfill, I'd be really supportive of that.

But I think there's always going to be a small residual of waste that as a community we can't find a better use for.

And so I think that's the role that landfills play.

So that was the zero waste part of your question, Lisa.

The other part was, what was the other part?

No, so not all landfills are the same.

So if I look at Aotearoa Te Poti Dunedin, Green Island Landfill is the city's primary facility.

And it takes municipal solid waste, waste off the streets, out of your red bins, out of commercial premises.

That's waste that stinks, that rots, that produces landfill gas.

So Green Island Landfill is the highest class of facility in Dunedin.

There's another facility which doesn't receive rotting, putrescible municipal solid waste, construction demolition material that doesn't have those same odorous landfill gas effects.

So Burnside Landfill is a Class 2 landfill.
