If I'm a transactional person, I'm just trying to get through this and get this thing done.

If I'm a noble purpose person, then I'm saying, how can I make a difference here?

And I might be under time constraints.

I might have a number at the end of the day that somebody's going to look at.

But in the moment, the more I can lean into you and think, how can I make a difference to this person?

I'm actually going to have a faster interaction with you because we'll get to the point faster.

And I am going to have a more emotionally connected interaction with you, which is going to increase the likelihood that you will buy, that you will stay, that you will become a recurring customer.

So you asked me about the difference between

is it shows up organizationally and whether people just commoditize customers and they're seen as a means to an end and all we talk about is money versus the noble purpose organization that says, this is how many people we're helping and let me tell you about one of them this week.

It shows up at an individual level in the attitudes and beliefs which leak out into the language and the way you interact with people.

And it's two distinctly different

True north and left to default.

Most organizations will default to a transactional mindset because it's easier to understand.

It's self-focused and numbers can go in an email.

Sure.

Deep rooted belief that we're all here to make a difference is harder to put in the weekly email.

Well, and the thing is, and if you're an owner, practically listening to this, the need to make the numbers is very real.

And you have every right with the training you've had, the risk you've taken, the business you've invested in, making money is not a bad thing.

And you have every right to make a very good living at this.
