But
We always feel like we can do better.
But I started up an international magazine consultancy.
So I was getting work overseas.
I started doing radio with the great Doug Mulray.
I was doing Beauty and the Beast.
at Foxtel, which had just started up.
So I was just sort of trying a few different things that weren't big jobs.
They were just dipping my toe in various areas of the media.
I was doing some newspaper columns as well.
Yeah, but I could dip in and out and I was kind of doing it on what I could cope with and I knew when to say, no, no, no, that's taking on too much.
Then we had another child and TV started calling ever more loudly and I started hosting a morning show once
in 2000 and then Sunrise wanted me to come on and start hosting the start-up of Weekend Sunrise and I was filling in for Mel when she was on holidays.
And I didn't want to do anything else.
And then I got the call, you know, would you like to come and host the Today Show?
And so I can honestly say every job I've ever done, I've always thought, well, this is the limit of what I can do.
And I'm really happy with how hard I've worked and the success me, along with the team, have had.
I'm proud of that work.
And it's so often when you're not looking for something, when you look really happy in a job, that someone will come along and say, I really like what you're doing.
And it's amazing the power that that can give you in terms of negotiating.
