Sure, so skin needling sounds a lot worse than what it actually is.

Unfortunately, the name does nothing for its appeal.

The idea of skin needling is it's creating a controlled wound in the skin, whether that be very superficial or a little deeper, but that controlled wound then triggers a response.

And it allows the skin to heal in a controlled way versus if you get a pimple, it goes into panic mode.

Or if you get a cut, you get a scab and then that scab has to heal.

So it's done under trauma in a moment of stress.

Whereas skin needling creates that moment of trauma in a controlled way.

So we are able to allow the skin to regenerate versus panic.

which is the difference.

So we're able to essentially trigger different responses, whether that be to inhibit melanin production for those that have pigmentation concerns.

For someone with acne scarring, obviously we have to remodel

the fibers of the skin and the way the skin meshes together to reduce the scar.

There's also things like pore size and fine lines, wrinkles, all of those sorts of things that can be triggered depending on how far down into the skin we go.

And when you're talking about depth with skin needling, I think people think of it as this really painful process.

It's gonna be really intense, but sometimes we go like 0.2 or 0.3 of a millimeter.

So it's so superficial.

you would feel more pain and more impact from someone scratching you with their nail than what you would actually feel with a skin needling device, which is really good.

So it's very scary in the name, but the actual practice of it can be very shallow.

We're doing really a maximum of 1.5 millimeters at the most.
