And these ones are from about 600 BCE to about 850 CE.

And 400 new symbols like this have been found.

They've been seen using LiDAR.

So previously we've seen these symbols kind of in deforested areas, so using aerial photography, satellites.

In this case, the researchers use LiDAR from a plane.

So that's a bit like sonar, but using laser pulses.

So they send pulses down to the ground.
