So, Montana pheasants.
Before we get into that, quick story.
I like to tell people I'm an adult onset hunter.
That's not totally true.
My only hunting experience before the age of 22 was at Miller Ranch Game and Preserve right over the border in Spokane, Washington, which is a pheasant stocking operation.
I was 11-ish.
I hadn't hunted before.
I asked my grandpa who had if he'd take me hunting, and that's what we chose to do.
And as an 11-year-old without any hunting background, I really didn't understand what was going on.
I didn't understand stocking, wild birds, pen-raised hunting.
Um, but even so it felt a little off to me.
Like I saw the guy drive out with birds in his ATV.
Sure.
Um, he told us when we were getting close to birds, we did get to see some cool dog work.
Um, and we did end up shooting some of those birds, but it just, it felt weird as an 11 year old, but I was with my grandpa and I didn't really know what was going on.
So didn't say anything.
Um, but I hate to admit it.
We didn't even end up eating those birds.
