So if you're making significant money, and even if you're at full retirement age, and we're talking about full retirement age versus age 70, if you're making a ton of money and you're going to be taxed highly on the Social Security dollars, sometimes it makes sense to wait an extra year or two years because the additional Social Security you're bringing in might even bump you into the next Medicare bracket. matched

So that's a whole nother different rabbit hole we can go down to. matched

So be very careful about the income that's coming in. matched

And if you're starting that Social Security, are you going to be taxed on it more than what it's worth? matched

The next part is if you are before full retirement age. matched

So if you start drawing at age 62 and you're trying to do this strategy, but you're still working. matched

you can only make the numbers right around 24,000. matched

So at 24,000, every dollar you make over the limit, I'm sorry, every $2 you make over the limit, they reduce your social security benefit by a dollar. matched

So effectively, you could wipe away your entire social security income for a monthly draw pretty quickly by having additional income. matched

At your full retirement age, they will recalculate your benefit and they will add it back. matched

But remember, you're doing this because you want to invest the money. matched

So if you're trying to invest the money and you're trying to do that strategy, you're kind of negating it by taking it early. matched

So be careful about those two caveats. matched
