You're also going to be in a 0% tax bracket there.
Now, what I like this question was asked is what happens, whose tax return, like who is this reported on?
The technical definition and answer to that is the first 1350 goes on no tax return.
There's no reason to report it.
You don't have to do anything with it.
The second 1350 is no tax.
It's on the child's quote unquote tax return, which would fall under a parent or guardian's taxes.
Now, I have seen before, I'm not a CPA, so I have seen before though, even when they're in that next 1350 tranche, people just don't file because there's nothing due.
They don't report it.
Although it is probably good practice to report that next $1,350 of income, dividends, or capital gains.
However, if you're over $2,700 in capital gains, interest, and dividend combined, remember, it's everything.
So if they have a savings account that's also accruing interest, you've got to factor that in too.
But if you're over $2,700, that will go on the parent's tax return, and it will get taxed at the parent's highest tax bracket.
So that's something to keep in mind.
If you go to $3,000, that $300 additional will get taxed at the parent's highest tax rate.
Does that make sense from a technical standpoint, Quinn?
Sure.
Yeah, that'd be nice.
Well, yeah, and I think doing updates, like if Jonathan's talking to the nieces and nephews, hey, you know, we invested in that Disney stock and it was $100.
Now it's $120.
