but it's also a national security moment and it makes you realise the magnitude of your job.
Straight away, you get brought into number 10, the door opens, people in military uniforms are there, the flunkies like me get shut out and there's a half hour of just those people.
And I think that concentrates the mind and then you're straight into the agenda.
And the key thing about being in number 10 is you could just let events and appointments overwhelm you every day unless you have the strategic nous to take a grip and try and direct the machine.
