Listen, I think it's been a work in progress for Connor McDavid as far as the leadership role.
I don't think it came naturally to him when he was younger.
I think he just played and he wanted to do his talking on the ice.
And I still think there's a big part of him that wants to do that.
He just wants to lead on the ice.
But he does have a running mate in Leon Dreissel that has a heavy voice in that room.
And he's a different personality.
He's a guy that's not afraid to get his back up.
You can see him.
He's out there.
He's growly.
He's angry.
That's when he typically plays his best is when he's got that edge for me.
They're doing it together and they're doing it in a different way.
They've gone to two Stanley Cup finals where they could have won both of them.
I know people say there's always a chance to win it when you get yourself to the final dance.
I thought three years ago easily could have won that one.
They kind of got behind.
They had to chase it.
