So when you near the end of a shelf life you replace them with a newer missile.

Well, those older older missiles are kept in reserve.

So could it be that what the administration is talking about is that potentially using bringing some of those older missiles into the supply system so that then

they can be used and make up any shortfall.

Now we're not really sure that that's actually taking place, but theoretically it could be.

Well, we heard from the Senate Majority Leader, uh, Senator John Thune, the Republican, who said yes, he's concerned about the the reports that the inventory of air defense missiles is down.

Um but he's also looking at it through a political lens, saying that we know this is a very uh serious situation and sh it should not be politicized.

But what we've seen already from the administration is with the request for they they wanted sixty seven billion more dollars as part of a supplemental to pay for um all the ammunition that they've already expended and to get newer versions of m of missile systems or or other weapons programs that uh have been

weapons programs that potentially may no longer be used or have been expended against Iran, but they're not finding a lot of full support.

And so you've seen a lot of lobbying taking place personally by Defense Secretary Pete Hexeth uh up on Capitol Hill.

And it's not good it's not a slam dunk for the administration that that those funds are going to be

given by Congress to make up any of these shortfalls that we're seeing.

There is definitely support

For making up.

Whatever shortfalls there are in terms of inventories, but it's not a slam dunk that the administration is going to get the large amounts that they actually want.
