The other way is system two, which is slow and rational thinking.
So under pressure, system one dominates because we are barely out of the caves.
We are still using that limbic system to push us through.
So Kahneman's work shows that under pressure, we default to that fast emotional thinking.
And that's why traders, I think, often know the rules.
but in the moment, in the heat of battle, they break them.
The other research that I think is interesting as well with this is that losses apparently, and I I feel it in my in my gut, losses feel twice as painful as a win.
So we notice a loss more in our body.
We can actually notice that sinking feeling in our stomach or the blood rushing away from our head or our hands getting cold.
It's because it's like we're getting ready for battle, even though it's only little pretty colored candles on a screen.
So losses are going to hit you harder than your gains.
Unless you have structure in place, your emotions will definitely override your rules and they'll override them really quickly.
