And they called it the wet room because the floors are often,
just sloshing with puddles.
And they were put to work.
When they were put to work, there was no speaking.
The silence was overwhelming, and the only thing they were allowed to do was to pray, so none would be with them in the room, leading them in prayer all the time.
They would only break for dinner at 1pm, where they would sit in rooms with long benches, but they weren't allowed to face each other.
There's no conviviality.

She's just watching them.
Then back to work again.
The food is disgusting.
The food is like always described as horrific.
And in some of the laundries,
women said on a Friday they would line up because they would get a dose of Epsom salts, which apparently would clear your bowels because their food was porridge, you know, you know, potatoes, stew, toast.
Yeah, so their, yeah, so their digestion would just be completely blocked up.
