And I mean, you hear of people doing their tests, and it's great that if they have forked out this money on top of the eighty five euro to sit there driving tests, but if they have forked out this money that they're actually getting the service, the query and the questions that have gone unanswered is how many people who have paid
out this extortionate amount of money, aren't getting their tests and are losing this money as a result.

I think there is an onus on them to say that X amount of people have had their tests cancelled because if they don't, people will hear of stories like those two seventeen year olds who got their tests immediately and they will try

And this seems to be an issue that the government has not been able to get a hold of.
And as Deputy Connolly outlined, some test centres have managed to get their waiting lists down.
But others, as the figures obtained by Sinn Fein's Pa Daily showed earlier this week, while the test centres some have reduced their waiting times, there's been several who have actually increased them.
Twelve centers around the country, their driving test waiting times have risen.
And that is a big issue.
And at a time when we are trying to put such an onus on road safety, at a time when a hundred and sixteen people have already died on our roads this year and we're trying to ensure that we can get the number of deaths down, people need to be reassured, not just the learner drivers, that they can, you know, pass their test and drive safely on our roads, but also the rest of us who have been through that system and who have done our tests and
are trying to keep safe on the road, that we're allowed to stay safe on the road and that learner drivers driving unaccompanied a lot of the time are not putting other people at risk.
Well, I mean, I was going to work.
I was driving along the N11 at 7am on Wednesday morning and I passed out a guy on an e-scooter.
I was going 80 kilometres an hour at that point.
He should have been going 20.
I go three kilometres down the road.
I stop at a traffic light and the next thing your man comes whizzing past me on the e-scooter.
