There was no way he was going 20 kilometres an hour.
He wasn't stopping at red lights.
He was going straight through them.
And I mean, that's existing law that clearly is not being enforced.
The existing law to keep youths off these e-scooters is also clearly not being enforced.
I was speaking to someone senior in government earlier in the week and they said, yes, we accept we need to do something.
Yes, there is an indication we are leaning towards an all out ban.
However, if we put that ban in place.
Will it be enforced?
We see the scrambler issues.
You know, scramblers have been banned off our roads for the last couple of weeks under Grace's law.
And yet there are still scramblers being used on public roads.
So if we put these bans and this legislation in place, how is it actually implemented?
But that comes back to enforcement to a certain extent as well.
Because, I mean, again, I was driving through town the other day into work and there was a woman in the car beside me with her phone up to her ear.
And I was kind of looking at her and going...

Because the reason that I had copped that she had her phone up to her ear is because she had, I was trying to get through at a green light and she had just stopped dead in the middle of the road.
And like, there was no guards around to stop it.
And I mean, this is the issue.
