Yet we know when we're hungry.
We know when we're thirsty.
We know lots of different sensations, but we're disconnected to, for example, confidence.
A lot of people say they want to feel more confident, but they can't actually name what confidence feels like.
And this feeling of discomfort is quite a strong one and a good one to start with.
prevent you from going into that burnout situation and i know that i'm talking about one specific area here which may lead to an emotional overwhelm i think yeah that's exactly my point linda it's it's knowing where the sensations are and being aware of what we're feeling for example taking a very on a on an easy level have you ever noticed that when maybe i should start again
From an emotional level, when we're feeling things all the time, we're feeling happiness, we're feeling hunger, as I mentioned, joy, we're feeling anxiety.
But we're not always aware of what the feeling we're feeling is.
So anxiety and excitement, for example, are quite similar.
But when you name them as anxiety, when maybe you're actually excited, your attitude going into a meeting, for example, could be completely different.
So having that awareness of something's happened and I don't feel good, I'm feeling anxious.
It's naming, it gives you, it separates you from I am anxious to, oh, I'm feeling a little something, some anxiety, I'm feeling some tension.
And that's a good point.
We learn from a young age because I think a lot of things come from the language and we get trained to say, I am anxious.
Now it might sound pedantic to people listening to this to say, it's the same thing.
I am anxious.
I feel anxiety in my abdomen.
It's a weird thing to say, but I think it's surprising how much psychologically changes.
when you say, I feel anxiety or I feel tension in my stomach, to saying, I am anxious.
That's interesting.
