Virginia Tech has announced they're putting a ton of money into their athletics department, like $229 million.

And like James Franklin...

we know he could build a program.

He's done that with Penn State.

He sort of did that with Vanderbilt.

Like, that is something that he has experience at.

And the issue is obviously the big games.

Not to be rude, that's a little less likely in the ACC.

Like, the odds of running into Ohio State every year is... It's not really going to happen as much.

So I really think that this is a good move by Virginia Tech because you have the DMV right there.

That's an area that James Franklin is going to be able to recruit really well.

Like, I think...

that this will get Virginia Tech back into competition for winning the ACC.

I certainly don't think that it's like a national championship level spot with that James Franklin hire, but I do think that this is what Virginia Tech needed, and I think this works out well.

And now with Penn State, the buyouts are up to, what, $9 million?

So you can kind of guess what his salary is going to be at Virginia Tech based off of that.

But not me, because I'm not good at math.

Yeah, I would think so because I don't think that LSU or Florida were possibilities.

I think that it's like a cultural fit.
