Theo Bennett's a really good run blocker, and I liked how the Bears used him as an extra blocker in certain situations.
I'm intrigued by Jedrick Wills, who's an All-American at Alabama.
But he never found it with the Cleveland Browns.
He wouldn't be the first guy to be better after leaving Cleveland.
So it's a possibility.
But I really want Braxton Jones to be that guy because he has the track record.
He finally gets to play in an offense that will allow him to kind of shine as a blocker.
And if he plays well, he might play himself into a big contract.
And it probably won't be with the Bears.
But I like to see guys like him.
Day three pick from Ryan Pultz's first draft.
I like to see guys like him succeed.
One of my favorite things that I learned about Ben Johnson is that he is fearless with how he deploys his offensive linemen.
We talked about Theo Benedict.
He used Luke Newman in blocking situations and in open space.
If you'll recall, the game-winning touchdown to DJ Moore in the Packers game, they moved Darnell Wright in motion to the blind side to give a little extra help on the left tackle.
And they had him in space.
They had him shooting out.
Yeah, I can see Ben Johnson doing all sorts of interesting things with Braxton Jones, even if he is just the left tackle by name.
The Bears aren't in a place where they're playing positionless football, but Ben Johnson teeters on it, and it scratches an itch in my brain.
