It felt like the next step towards the dream was really coming true.

So your family moved to Brisbane for your last two years of school so you can focus on league.

What was school like for you and how did you navigate it?

School in Brisbane was interesting.

At first, it was quite harsh, I found.

I found the...

as I said, when you go up, when I've been with the same kids in my class into preschool, everyone knows each other.

Everyone looks after each other.

You know, obviously you're still kids.

So there's always like a bit of fighting and stuff, but everyone at the end of the day, everyone's really looking out for each other because you've got 18 kids in your class and you've been together since preschool.

So everyone sort of has that love for each other in a way.

And then once you got to Brisbane and you're in a class of 300 kids and there's all the different groups, it was really harsh to me.

Everyone seemed harsh and it was always about...

picking on each other or putting each other down or things like that.

And I sort of, I struggled with that, but I was lucky in the sense, you know, and I have a lot of privilege in a way because I was, you know, athletic.

I was a part of the footy boys, which were the more, one of the more like popular sort of groups.

So I, I was able to slide in to there and sort of,

yeah, be camouflaged sort of straight away.

I would say, you know, you know, I don't want to sit here and, and say that my schooling life was difficult or anything.
