So I was sort of switching between fantasy and self-development.
And believe me when I say this, there is so much self-help in fantasy.
And there is so much personal growth and awareness and learning and just wonderful things in fictional novels that we can apply to our own life.
And it also allowed me to escape.
Because this was such a difficult period of my life, such a painful, hard period of my life, fantasy books were my outlet.
Fantasy books were my escape.
As I said earlier, they were my safe harbor.
When the noise of the world was too loud, and believe me, the world was screaming at me at this stage, that was where I went for quiet.
That was where I went to find peace.
That was where I went to escape.
And I could step out of the shoes of Luke Bateman.
which were extremely painful shoes to be in, and I could step into the shoes of someone else.
And they were my friends.
The coaches in the book, they were my friends.
They supported me.
They were the ones who I talked to, and not obviously in conversation, but they were the ones who showed me the way.
