And by the time they drop off, they're like real dark, like brown, almost black.
They'll drop off as larvae.
And then they kind of float around in the tide.
And then those larvae are going to like change kind of like their form, like 20, there's almost like 20 different stages before they even start to look like a blue crab, right?
Yeah.
And then once they start to look like a blue crab, then they're shedding once a week, you know, once every two weeks, whatever, you know, just until they get to a certain size, like maybe half the size of your thumb, something like that.
And then, you know, they're shedding less and less frequently as they get older.
Yeah.
But they're trying to like, it's like they're, it's a, it's a sprint to get as big as you can so you don't get eaten.
You know what I mean?
And then once they get to a certain size, then they're a little safer and they're only going to shed a few times a year.
Yeah, so soft shells are good for us.
I can sell them for a bunch of money individually.
They're like a delicacy where we're at.
But the best soft shell crabs I get are crabs that I catch as a peeler and then I put into tanks.
And then I monitor the tanks and then pull them out as a perfect soft crab because they're not a soft crab at all.
Yeah, something like that.
So I got tanks and all that where I
I bring them in and put them in the tank and then, you know, check on them like every couple of hours.
Cause once every couple of hours, yeah, man, like once a crab sheds, uh, you only have like two hours to get it before it's, you know, too hard to be a soft crab, too soft to be a hard crab.
