You've been on this hamster wheel for such a long time.

And then as I write in the book –

The job, the universe showed itself to me.

And what I mean by that is I had a story about veterans benefits on Capitol Hill and it got bumped for Donald Trump's reaction to the death of Harambe the gorilla.

And that's when I knew that the game had changed.

And perhaps if I was going to go, this was not the worst time in the world to make this decision.

No, I mean, this has been the, the success of this book is beyond anything I could ever imagine.

I was just happy to get it out there.

And that was enough for me.

And people said, well, why'd you write it?

I said, because if there was one kid out there who lost their dad, who is going through something, and this helps them make it feel a little less lost than I've done my job.

And I,

The response I've gotten from this, I mean, I've had people in their late 70s write me letters being like, I've been sitting with feelings about losing my parent for 50 years, and this book helped make that more clear for me.

And it's really touching, and it is really rewarding.

I like the storytelling space.

Maybe I'll build my own studio somewhere in my home, and that would be nice to broadcast out my stories.

But I don't know.

We'll see.

I'll get the studio space.

I like storytelling in the sense of long form.
