I think you would get into deep waters pretty quickly if you labeled a child with the ADHD or autism without a formal diagnosis because the court won't really know what to do with that.
But you can describe your child's behaviors and you can say that they seem to need extra time to process.
They struggle with change.
You'll often see a matter, you'll see kids who pack up a whole big
suitcase to take to the other house with all of their things in.
And I've seen it in a sib ship where the other sister doesn't care and they leave stuff at each house.
And it's their own personal needs.
But yeah, you've got to be careful with what are seen to be professional labels when really the court just needs to understand the behaviours.
I think sometimes people get into justifying why they're separating and defending themselves.
And really, the child doesn't need to know that.
And the other supportive thing is at school and kinder, they won't.

And the only way the court can find out what might be in the best interests of the children is usually through you.

And it used to be something simple like, my child plays up to a Wednesday after a weekend at the other house.
It's not a slur on the other house.
It's just how the child is coping.
