It's harder with the first child, I think.
because they tend to stick younger for their siblings, right?
But once kids start to grow up, the first one's hard and then the rest of them, oh, okay.
So it's probably hard for both of you and your ex.
So one of the things that I see a lot in affidavits and things, when you say, my child is melting down, my child struggles to go to sleep.
And if the other person, if they don't accept any diagnosis or anything, will often say, I don't do that at my place.
And that could be, Amanda, couldn't it, that they are melting down in their safe place.
Definitely.
I don't know about that.
I mean, I think it's from my experience as parenting and also through law, but there's no case law about that as far as I'm aware.
So what you would need to, if you're bringing evidence of that to the court,
you would need a professional to be asked those questions.
And if it's a family report writer and you are at trial, you can put the family report writer in the witness box and then ask them, what if this, what if that?
But it is a very common thing.
And it just means they know you'll love them no matter what you do, but they're not confident that's the case in the other house.
It's really good as long as the other person is on board with what's happening.
Otherwise, I think they can stick, put a spoke in the wheels and stop these things happening.
And some people feel very attacked when their child is being taken to therapy.
