And he got elected because of a curriculum management system that was very controversial, CSCOPE.

So Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has had a stronghold.

He's had his thumb over the education system for decades.

And so he is behind the scenes at the state board pushing these charter schools to be approved and then they replicate.

So once they're approved, they can spread, metastasize like a cancer across Texas.

And so they don't have to get approval once they get that initial approval.

They can spread like wildfire.

That's what we have.

Since 2000, we've had these Islamic schools

flourishing in Texas taking public dollars and shifting those into private hands, and they don't have democratically elected boards like our school boards do in Texas.

They have appointed boards, so corporate boards.
