When I was coming up, Don, you know, back in the day,
When you went to college to be a newspaper... During the horse and buggy period.
Listen, when I went to college to be a newspaper reporter specifically,
I remember we were on distinctly different floors in the building, and I think we were separated by two floors.
And when I say they, I mean the business center, the business section where advertising was located.
And so there were physical barriers between editorial and the business section, because to your point, in those days, we were serious about keeping corporate America's hands out of journalism business.
But after 9-11 and the economy sort of shrank after the housing boom,
you know, those walls sort of start to crumble.
And what we're seeing now is the acceleration of that crumbling.
This is, you know, this is, this is what we knew and understood what was going to happen if last November transpired the way that last November did.
And so it's just sort of a continuation of that.
And unfortunately, the corporate aspect of it, the money aspect of it,
has the people thinking the math means let's get rid of these voices, let's minimize these people.
And it's short-sighted for a lot of reasons.
First and foremost, more than 25 million people did vote for someone else.
That voice can still be monetized and those pockets don't disappear.
you know so i don't understand you know just automatically sort of like to switch off in that thinking in that calculus in terms of how to make your media company uh you know you know soluble going for going further but you know from an ideological perspective you know it's really up you know and it's up in the sense that not that they they being those in control of the media companies agree with anything that the administration is saying
is that if they do disagree, they won't feel comfortable or powerful enough to say it.
And that, by its definition, is an authoritarian relationship with your government.
And the fact that they are willing to make this exchange for money, given the amount of money they've already acquired, keep in mind, we're not saying we're making a leap from being 100,000 heirs to millionaires.
