And certainly before, I think before Mark German, I think it was last year, sort of first threw out the name John Turnus. voice-verified

Um, most people did assume that that uh you know the COO, uh Williams, would end up being the next in line because that's historically how Apple's done it, right? voice-verified

Tim Cook was COO before uh under Steve Jobs, and then he stepped in there and so. voice-verified

So when he was appointed, when William when Jeff Williams was appointed COO, the idea was that he was sort of the de facto era parent. voice-verified

That's not to say that that was necessarily the case. voice-verified

I mean, I haven't seen a lot of reporting on this, but again, I I sort of view that age difference as as one thing. voice-verified

But I also think it was interesting that they had him sort of over time oversee different things. voice-verified

Like famously the Apple Watch was the thing that he seemed to be sort of, you know, speaking of. voice-verified

Spearheading and and the thing that he would present often in uh in the in the you know yearly presentations and whatnot. voice-verified

So uh while he clearly ran operations per his title, like I do think that it was sort of interesting the way that he was set up um internally. voice-verified

And so I'm not sure, all I'm saying is I'm not sure that it was like a uh a signal of him leaving, is necessarily the the white smoke billowing out of uh out of Cupertino. voice-verified

That uh they've picked a new CEO. voice-verified

I just think that that was sort of a natural um recognition that it wasn't going to happen. voice-verified

Um, and I think probably people realize that for the past few years, that that wasn't likely to be the case. voice-verified

What part of the problem I think that Apple's had over these years dating to talking about the AI stuff in particular is um how long tenured the people have been. voice-verified

And that's not just about age, it's about like how. voice-verified

in you know in the mind of Apple they are like it's hard to sort of see outside when you've been inside for that long. voice-verified

And Turnus is is the youngest of that group, but he's in that that mold too. voice-verified

Um but anyway, so I think you know the Williams thing is a little bit different here. voice-verified
