And that is the part where things get really exciting because when you think about what the rest of the school day can be about,
When academics only takes a couple of hours instead of six, we have answered that with the idea that kids should be learning life skills.
They should be learning the skills that are going to help them be successful.
So things like leadership and teamwork.
relationship building and socialization, grit and hard work, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, public speaking, storytelling, those types of skills that I think all of us would agree are what help you be successful out in the world.
And so our kids do these workshops, and these are basically group and project-based workshops where
where kids are doing everything from five and six-year-olds who are learning grit by biking five miles and that, or second graders who are completing triathlons, fifth and sixth graders who are running businesses.
And it kind of goes on from there.
And that's really the kind of fun part.
So at Alpha, we have basically these three commitments of loving school, learning twice as much in two hours a day, and then spending the rest of the day learning life skills.
And here's the kicker.
The reason that we've had so much success is because we have transformed the role of the adult in the classroom from being a teacher who is disseminating information to being what we call a guide or a coach.
Somebody who is connecting with students and supporting them motivationally and emotionally to make sure that they kind of are able to achieve whatever it is that they set their goals to.
So what we've found that's really exciting is that using artificial intelligence to to
do the subject matter expertise kind of teaching for students is allowing us to raise human intelligence in two ways.
First of all, our kids are crushing their academics.
They're doing so well on it.
But secondly, they're getting so much more time to connect with each other as well as with these awesome adults to develop these life skills.
And that's sort of been the secret sauce.
I am still wondering that as I try to do my taxes right now.
