Oh, it's a sad, dysfunctional slog.
We're marking up an appropriations bill.
Financial services.
Yeah.
And yet we are getting absolutely no interaction with the other side of the aisle.
No interaction, no recognition that the cuts that they are putting in are going to hurt children, are going to hurt workers, are going to help healthcare, NIH.
government services, IRS.
We're going to collect less money.
We're going to make it more expensive for folks to file their tax returns.
This is a very tough slog, and I wish we could get some recognition from the other side of the aisle that what's going on is not normal.
It is not appropriate.
The very amendment we just finished.
Talk about that one, about the president benefiting from his office.
We can't get eye contact.
Something that I found sitting here, and it's disheartening, because I was really excited to get on appropriations.
I fought for that for the four terms I've been here.
I finally made it.
But in the minority, in this minority, with that majority, it is really crucial.
and quite disheartening.
