Hey, everybody. We're live. This may lead into our live at 5. We're doing IRL Lives all this week in Washington talking to Congress people. And one person I really want to talk to is Congresswoman Sarah McBride of Delaware. Yes. Well, we have just voted to table this ridiculous censure against LaMonica McGyver, my colleague from New Jersey. It failed. We successfully tabled the censure resolution. Several Republicans joined us. Some didn't vote. But it was a complete show of a censure to continue to just exploit. her for political gain on their end.
Well, walk with me.
Yeah, sure.
So do you mind? We could go. Oh, we can go here. So does that give you hope then that perhaps maybe you can win some folks over on the other side of the aisle, win them over to start voting for democracy and to have or and to have the Epstein files released?
You know, I take every little victory that we can get. I'm glad that enough Republicans joined us to table that censure resolution. But we're continuing to see by the executive branch the politicization of the criminal justice system against folks like LaMonica. I hope we see more of my Republican colleagues join us on the discharge petition for the Epstein files. I signed yesterday, I think it was the 102nd signature for the discharge petition. But we still need more to join for us to get to the magic number. And unfortunately, because of the fake resolution to have the oversight committee just continue to do what they've been doing with the investigation, because of the release of files, 97% of which were already released, a handful of Republicans that were ready to sign the discharge petition in July appear to be caving to Donald Trump, which time and time again, they do.

Well, I think there are a couple of folks who've been leading, Tim Burchett, for instance, who were very vocal on this back in July, have said publicly that it's, quote, moot, which is not accurate. What the administration has released, 97% of it we already knew. And the resolution that was passed today basically is a resolution in name only. It just continues the investigation by the Oversight Committee. It doesn't have any kind of meaningful effect. And right now we see, of course, the president calling it a hoax, which is just... Not only is it ridiculous that after years of Republican politicians stoking conspiracy theories around this tragedy for political gain, that now suddenly they're calling it a hoax.
It's ridiculous to see that happen, but also it is pretty guilty. And it's pretty suspicious behavior. And so we'll continue to demand transparency. It's disrespectful to the survivors, many of whom are on Capitol Hill this week, to share their stories, to say that this is a hoax, when not only they were stoking outrage and calling for transparency for years, but to have people who are sharing their stories right now being vulnerable to members of Congress right now to demand accountability and transparency to have the White House and Republicans in Congress call this a hoax is just outright outrageous.
Do you? Yeah, it is. You're right. And I'll ask you, you talked about it just a moment ago a little bit, but why do you think all of a sudden, you know, you were going 100 miles an hour and then, no, let's not talk about this. You think he got some information that may not be so favorable to him? And once they were in office and they got to actually see the files that they were like, oh, wait.
I mean, look, I can't speculate, but... It's suspicious.
