He said he was going to rule as soon as he can. In the meantime, we're going to get to that. But in the meantime, today, Uh I need to tell you that our uh we have breaking news. Our correspondent Daniel Grimes was at the Capitol. He tried to ask uh Senator Cindy Cindy Hyde Smith a question. But this is according to Daniel said that he she called over two Capitol Hill police officers. To try to stop him. Two officers for a question. Um, Daniel is at the Capitol now. Oh, this has happened to TMZ before and I said they're gonna have to apologize because uh the Capitol uh police and the senator that happened with them ended up apologizing. He said he was having a bad day. So we'll see if uh Cindy Hyde Smith reaches out. But uh first of all, we the I was in an area where uh where we were allowed to be. Uh we have we are credentialed press, and so there's certain areas where you're allowed to ask questions. Uh and I was in an area where again, you're allowed to ask questions as they wait for uh the um transportation to the actual capital for the vote. And so there was really nothing that security could do. I understand that they looked visibly annoyed, and I understand that they were uh in between a rock and a hard place because again, my first amendment right to be there as a credential reporter in the Capitol asking the senator questions.
Uh a question. By the way, about Nolan Wells, who was one of her constituents in Mississippi. She's the senator there. And by the way, Don, uh, earlier this summer, when that happened, I first happened, I ran into Cindy Hyde Smith in the Capitol, and she said, Listen, Daniel, I don't have a comment right now on that. I'm gonna let the investigation play out, and I'll have a comment on the other side of this. That is what she told me off camera earlier this summer.
