The new songs didn't do a ton for me.
There are two new songs, one of which is called The Girl in the Bubble.
It all but stopped short of having Ariana, you know, poke the bubble in the end.
You know, there's some room for subtlety.
There simply isn't enough plot to sustain it.
And also by nature of the politics of the world we're living in right now, so many of the undertones just feel, I've already used heavy handed, ham fisted.
They just, it's, there's no magic.
And that comes down to the difference between a 45-minute second act and a two-hour and 18-minute second act.
Because at a certain point, you're just saying the same thing over and over again.
You just don't want to listen to what they have to say.
At one point during this movie, I'm taking notes in a notebook like, you know, a good little journalist.
And Gilbert just shoulders me like elbows me in the shoulder and takes my pen and scribbles in his hand.
