Yeah, I think when I look at some of those at-bats with runners in scoring position, whether it's two outs, less than two outs, I really look at the swing decisions before getting to two strikes.
So what were some of the swings that some of the players were taking in those more hitter leverage counts?
There were a couple of here and there where I was circling going maybe probably shouldn't have swung at that pitch in that count to where it looks like maybe they're not on time for one of them being
It was a I believe it was a one in one sinker to Vladdy with the bases loaded where he ended up hitting the ground ball.
But that pitch was just way, way inside.
And now was it a strike?
Yes.
But if you're not really looking for that speed and in that location, especially with the arm side run on it.
Not an easy pitch to just adjust to on the fly to try to get out to left field.
So instead of him driving a base hit, it ends up being a ground ball.
The other one you mentioned with Ernie came up with two outs and bases loaded.
Now he was, I want to say it was a 1-0 count.
He got a fastball middle-middle, and that's exactly what you want to swing at.
So I am totally okay with him swinging at that.
I mean, he pulled it hard to the left side and just went right to the shortstop.
So in that moment, I'm thinking, okay, you got the pitch you wanted.
You put a pretty good swing on it, and it just happened to go right to the defender.
So I'm kind of looking at those at-bats in a couple of different ways.
But now, granted, when you look at the amount of runners that they left on, you're thinking, oh, yeah, you've got to capitalize on those.
