I did feel like there were a couple of strikeouts that were mixed in there, too, where...

Just unproductive outs where you're just not able to move people over.

I get it.

Strikeouts are going to happen.

But it just seemed like the timeliness of those strikeouts just didn't go in the Blue Jays' favor yesterday.

out to me is just the fact that there are a lot of balls that he's putting in play that are going to the right side and they're going up in the air to the right side.

And I feel like when I think back to Ernie through those stretches last year, a lot of hard hit balls, whether it's on breaking balls or fastballs, just pulling it straight down the left field line.

So that's why when

even when he hit that ground ball, I know it's bases loaded.

I know they weren't able to score.

I know that it ended the inning, but when he hit that ball hard to the pole side, I'm thinking, man, that probably felt good.

Obviously you want to score runs, but that to me looked a little bit more like the Ernie swings that we saw last year.

And just recently, he almost has like a little bit more of like a downward angle to his swing naturally too, which I think allows him to be able to get to some of those balls that he pulls to the left side.

But it's funny how sometimes, you know, if you're sitting back and you're watching it, you're thinking, why not just swing down on top of the ball?

sometimes it can have the opposite effect.

If you swing too hard down, you end up kind of slicing and getting underneath the baseball, and that's what's going to make it flare to the other way.

So I was trying to find that balance.

But, yeah, this is where, you know, I like to look at the positives in things, and I know that results obviously matter at this point in the year.

I am completely aware of that, and you have to go out there, and you've got to win the series.
