Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders has declared a state of emergency.
The National Weather Service says much of the south will see below freezing temperatures this weekend and early next week, including sub-zero temps in central and northern Arkansas.

Arkansas will see a mix of snow and sleet this weekend with up to 18 inches of snow in northern parts of the state.
