So if you are a female and you're looking to meet a potential suitor to get married and have kids with, you need to know that somebody is going to be able to keep the house afloat while you keep this little tiny human alive, grow them, birth them, all of those different things.
Hormones fly in your own career, of course, being on hold.
If you decide to take maternity leave, maternity leave benefit then as well.
In Ireland, most private sector companies do not pay maternity benefit.
And so you're down to €280 a week for some people that might come to me for matchmaking.
They may have been on €1,000 a week.
€1,500 a week.
So it's a huge drop while the gentleman's income stays the same.
