Yeah, let's uh let's maybe move on to a methodological question then.
Um so
what you just, you know, we're talking about these different concepts and they're they're I think often employed differently in different traditions, right?
Different ways that people think about uh about these concepts.
So how do you, as you're engaging with Gosyang who is uh
historically situated in the Jin dynasty, in in medieval China as you characterize it.
Um, how do you work with him?
kind of cross culturally.
So, um, you know, some of the things you said in the book and just mentioned so far in this interview bring to mind things like dialethism.
You in your book you work with Isaiah Berlin, you work with Hegel.
Um maybe you can say a little bit about how you s how you do philosophy and how you think about uh working with someone like Gwosyang as a philosopher and not merely as a uh individual
person in the sort of Jin dynasty, right?
As a as a philosopher who has things to say to other philosophers beyond his time.
Right.
Uh so let's look at chapter three then.
Uh so in chapter two, well the which we just talked about, you introduce this idea of the logic of convergence.
Uh and in chapter three, you move from understanding sort of broader patterns of causality uh to thinking about the self specifically.
Uh and you characterize uh Gosyang's conversation.
dynamicity uh has some important political implications.
So maybe let's start with the political implications first and go backwards.
